Its been a while

I wonder if any of this blog's followers are still checking up blogs.

Its exactly a month till Christmas and I've already been at school for over 11 weeks.

The first day back at school happened to be (as always) my birthday.
On that morning, I got up as usual and started getting ready for school as usual. It never at all occured to me that it was my birthday so that when I went to the bus stop and my 'friends' shouted Happy Birthday Rorry!, I was quite shocked.

Anyway, what do you want for Christmas?
I'm not so clear but I do have a few hopefuls. I'm spending Christmas and New Year's @ Japan.

Please comment if you see this so I get a rough estimate of who is still paying attention to blogs.

PS. I still haven't managed to post pictures of my holiday have I?
I'll seriously start thinking about doing it once I know how many people are still reading.

Olympics

The summer olympics finally brought fun and excitement to the summer holidays.
The opening ceremony was one to remember with history of England all etched in within a couple of hours of Danny Boyle's masterpiece.
Usain Bolt managing to strike a double triple, smashing the previous world record into pieces in the 4X100m relay with a ridiculous time of 36.84 seconds.
Michael Phelps became the best olympian of all time, winning a total of 22 olympic medals throughout his career, an achievement Ian Thorpe was quick to praise.

Congratulations must go to Team GB, but it is sort of unfair that they should be considered 3rd best. This is because olympics has 3 medals not just golds, and in no. of total medals they are 4th. They also had massive home support which obviously made a difference. Plus the only medals Team GB ever manage to get are in sports that hardly mean anything, in other words, sports which I personally think should not be considered very proffesional. These include Sailing, Canoeing, Cycling, Boxing, Shooting and Equestrian. Without these, 11 golds, 8 silvers, 14 bronzes, 33 total.
They would be 6th or 7th place in no. of golds and 9th place or so in no. of total medals.
USA and china once again proved their part in the olympics.
Japan did fairly well, with a total of 38 medals to their name, but they seemed to have found a new love for silvers and bronzes.

Early summer days

I can describe the early days of the summer holidays for me in one word...BORING!
Not going anywhere (dad in Japan), and no entertainment in the form of the all mighty Homework.
So far, I've had to resort to watching DVDs and TV.

Its been a couple of warm days in the South East however, and no-one can deny the weather at least has been beginning to seem like summer.
The English may say its warm, but for me, as I have been to many countries in the world, one over 20 times, and got used to high temps and adverse weather, its really nothing. 72 plane journeys + 2 7,8 day cruises.
But all this is to end come the 2012 Olympics.
I, personally am expecting a wet Olympics, probably the wettest yet.
I can see someone slipping on the tracks in the track events.
Funny if it was someone like Yohan Blake or Usain Bolt, but I would like to see Bolt break some WRs.

Anyway, good luck to Team GB, Team Japan, and Bolt.
Wishing all the best.

Randomness

I found this blog, and it was quite a good poetic read.

Poem

Don't know where this came from, but I somehow managed to write 3 verses about my home staircase.

Into the night and I climb upstairs.
1 step, then 10 steps
and finally 2 steps.

Wanting to use my right
as the pivot on the 11th,
Left foot one step,
Right foot, Left foot 2 steps at a time.

Why I care about this I do not know.
Only yesterday I almost lost my balance,
Topple, topple, I would have gone.
I'm quite glad I'm typing this today.

RANDOM!

I've started reading the Harry Potter series again, for something like the 17th time.
Harry Potter is the perfect book, which you can read over and over again without getting bored.

GREAT BOOK!

A few days ago, I finished reading a right big book, called 'The Elements - A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe' by Theodore Gray.

I have to say, I wasn't at all interested at first, but, having read it, I found that it was a fantastic book. I learnt loads from it, much to my parent's joy.
Other than science, you also get lots of new interesting facts.
Forget that its about the Elements, just read every single page, and look at all the pictures. The pictures are outstanding.
